<div>Create his second ext on his phone as you would usually do. Then go into UNITy and search for this user. on the left hand side you will see a menu option labeled "Alternate Extensions" in there put in his second ext that you also want to be included with his main #.

So are you saying to add a 2nd line to his phone, let's say 1691, and change the translation pattern to 1691? Wouldn't he then have to check 2 voicemails, though??

<div>I have a user, Jim, and his main extension is 1690. He has a 'private line' with DID, and since our DIDs begin with 474, he's got a 474-8123. So on his phone, a 7940, I just have his main ext, 1690. And if someone rings 474-8123, I merely forward it to 1690. Pretty straightforwarsd so far, yes?

<div>Well, his admin wants to be able to know if he's on the phone or not. So I set up one of her lines (she has a 7960) with the 1690 extension. And in CCM (v4) I set the Ring Setting (Idle) to Flash only and the Ring Setting (Active) to Beep Only. I have setup 3 other extensions this way so she can tell who's on a call and who isn't.

<div>Anyways, when someone rings 474-8123, it is also ringing at her phone (the Caller ID info shows up, and the MsgWaiting light flashes). She can also take the call, something I didn't want her to do.</div>
