that all depends on the complexity of your configuration. I am not
familiar with CM4.x on that platform. However for CM6.x I am pretty
sure the registered devices is enforced by the number of DLU in the
license file. Since it's not 1 DLU : 1 device there is some
flexibility, but you will still be limited.
i have counted 300 including the cti ports. So, if one dies, there will
be registered 300 hundred to one of them.
Is 300 that cisco says limiting indeed? I mean, what if 330 get
registered? Is it so bad for the overall performance?
That's correct--you'll be okay unless you lose one. Also, don't forget about voicemail ports and cti ports.
Thanks,
James

Subject: [cisco-voip] What does "Maximum phones per server" means?
Hi,
i have a cluster environment with 2 servers.
7816 and CUCM 4.x Supports up to 300 phones per server. I do have 300 phones.
So, if i configure two CCM groups and i register half of them (150) to the first group and the other half to the other is there a performance problem?
I guess there will be problems when one of them dies but in normal circumstances, will it be OK?
Thanks
Anthony
