When you order the upgrade kit you receive a disk that contains a
signed upgrade file *tar.gz.sgn
Neither the *.sgn.iso file from Cisco.com nor the 6.1 new install disk
will work for upgrade from CM5.x.

Well, the new install will if you wipe the hard drive and start over
from scratch ;)

Do you mean point to the 6.1 DVD from the iptplatform software upgrade
web interface the same as if I was patching callmanager 5.1? I tried
pointing CM at my 6.1 DVD and I get:
The directory was located and searched but no valid options or upgrades
were available. Note, a machine cannot be downgraded so option and
upgrade files for previous releases were ignored.
The 6.1 DVD I have is a bootable linux DVD with the 6.1 installer on it.
There is no signed patch file that can be applied to callmanager 5.1.
Thanks,
Eric

Subject: Re: [cisco-voip] ucm 5.1 to 6.1 upgrade
You needed to order the upgrade kit to get the PAK for the license
upgrade, cuz you now need a CCM feature license.
Just put the disc into the DVD drive and point the upgrade to the
drive and go... do the pub first, load your license, then do the
sub...
