If your old Ex2K was the first and only exchange server, I'd follow the steps described in the MS Article ID: 307917 (how to remove the first exchange server computer from the site) and promote the new server to be the Master within the routing group (Article ID: 239556).<BR>

Got a customer that has an Exchange 2000 server, they are retiring<BR>
this server and have already moved their user mailboxes to the new<BR>
server, without problems.<BR>

They want to remove the remaining Unity system mailboxes (Example<BR>
Administrator, etc...) to the new server and retire it...<BR>
<BR>
My plan is to move them using the Exchange move mailbox utility, and<BR>
then rerun Permissions Wizard and Message Store Integration Wizard to<BR>
change the partner mail server and kill the old server...<BR>
