Subject: [cisco-voip] VG224 problems<br>
<br>
<br>
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'>I have 6 VG224 installed and I am
getting mixed results with reliability of service on the ports.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'>I have many ports that work fine
for days and then stop working.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'>When they stop working there is no
dial tone at the ports, it seems like the lines get noisy thus<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'>causing the ports on the VG224 to
FXSLS_CONNECT for an extended period of time, timing out, then no dial tone.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'>On some ports, I can remove the
station side and the ports start working again until I connect the station side
back again.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'>I can then move them to a
different VG224 with open ports and they will start working again.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'>On other ports, it didn’t matter
that I removed the station side, I still could not get dial tone and it<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'>appeared as if the ports were dead
on the VG224, rebooting didn’t help.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'>Right now I am working with 7
ports that previously worked all last week (1 modem, 5 fax, 1 pots).<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'>Has anyone else had problems like
this with the VG224s ? <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'>What can I use to test the lines
to ensure they are up to specifications for the VG224s ?<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'>Any help or suggestion would be
greatly appreciated, I am tried on playing musical POTS lines on the VG224s.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'>Thanks<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'>John<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
