Thanks Wes, I did manage to build it using SFTP and the file had been renamed as the only copy I could get hold of that ES had already been renamed. I then renamed itr back to the correct name. I was not able to find this any longer on CCO so could not download a fresh copy.
the file name must remain the same, completely unchanged. the filename

use an sftp server and put the es on the sftp server without renaming
it.
here is an example of a file that was clearly renamed and thus failed
UCSInstall_UCOS_6.1.1.3000-2.sgn.iso
UCSInstall_UCOS_6.1.1.2000-3.sgn.iso
Also since then I have got hold of a 6.1.1.2000-3 install disc so used
that to boot the initial installtion then tried upgrade media of
UCSInstall_UCOS_6.1.1.3000-2.sgn.iso
UCSInstall_UCOS_ES_6.1.1.3102-3.sgn.iso

and I'm still getting the same error, pretty stuck with this one,
servers are MCS7845H2-K9-CMB2. someone has suggested it could be the
raid array but how do I check this as there are no utility discs
supplied with the servers.
I get to the point where I add the dvd with my upgrade ISO on and it
see's this as an upgrade then tied he screen goes blue and after about
10 - 15 minutes I get the following error
