resurrect an older thread, but we’ve been trying to figure out how to
handle this going into a new building. We have an ATA 186 we’ve been
testing with, turned off ECM and V.34 mode on the fax machine, but as soon
as it’s plugged into the ATA, the red light on the ATA goes on, never turns
off, and it won’t place or receive calls. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

in SCCP modem pass-through. Most of ours faxes didn’t require configuring.
However, there were a few that we had to turn ECM off on. We are also using
modems (Visa machines primarily) with this configuration without problems (our
ATM’s were temperamental but apparently they didn’t use standard modems).<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

not just the gateways you have to configure, but the fax machines. Have you
turned off SG3 support? Essentially you have to put their max speed to 14,400
and turn off error correction. Similar to modems, max speed is 14,000.<br>
