We currently have two voicemail systems running in the same AD domain and homed to the same Exchange 2003 server. Our old server is running Unity 4.2(1) and our new server is running Unity 7.0(2). We have live users on both systems, but most of the users are still in 4.2(1) and we are migrating them to the new hardware and new Unity 7.0(2) version. I know that I could use DiRT, but I am not interested in investing the time update the existing server from 4.2(1) to 7.0(2) and then going through that procedure.

If I am going to do a mass import, is it best to just use GSM to delete the users first on the old Unity 4.2(1) servers and then just use COBRAS to import them ? How long does it usually take for the alias to be deleted from AD so that you can actually perform the import in COBRAS without getting the “[CONFLICT] Alias of subscriber in the global directory” error?

I have went in manually and “Removed Subscriber Properties”, then imported them onto the new server using GSM, then restored the setings using COBRAS, but this seems like way to many steps. Am I missing something? I have about 170 accounts to do and would rather not do them one at a time.
Thanks!
