<div>As an installer of both, here are some of the differences I have noticed:</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Unity Connection</div>
<div>Cons:</div>
<div>~ Not able to change the directory handler greetings "spell the first and last name....."</div>
<div>~ Not able to expose the error handler (have not found a way yet)</div>
<div>~ Not able to MWI other additional extensions (extension 1150 MWI but also send MWI to 1151, 1152, etc)<br>~ Unable to monitor real time call routing for trouble shooting</div>
<div>~ No unified messaging</div>
<div>~ No message monitor (have not found it yet)</div>
<div>Pros:</div>
<div>~ No MS Exchange, AD, permissions wizard, etc</div>
<div>~ Easier to manage voicemail boxes, limits, deletions, etc</div>
<div>~ No MS patching</div>
<div>~ Hardened Linux platform with simplified upgrades</div>
<div>~ Base build takes a couple of hours instead of several hours</div>
<div>~ Import users and create VM boxes from CUCM (CUCM syncs with LDAP)</div>
<div>~ IMAP4 works very well with multiple clients including Apple, not just Outlook</div>
<div> </div>
<div>These are just a few from personal experience. All in all, I prefer Unity Connection for install, end user training, and day two perspective. Cisco is addressing some of the items above in version 8.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Thank you</div>
