I tested this muting and un-muting with a 7961 and a 7970 both using firmware 8-4-2, muting the phone, it muted and then beeped, when un-muting it beeped twice and then un-muted, so even on speaker phone the you shouldn't hear acoustic echo<br>

beeps. You may want to try a later phone load on the muting phone (phone
hitting the mute button). I know there was an issue with this a year or more
back but I know it was also resolved. I can’t remember which models were
affected.<br>
