I think in this case what you want to do is transfer a file from your PC to the
server. You should be able to do this with the GUI. If you need to download a
file first, you can use a TFTP client. I've used Pumpkin
(http://kin.klever.net/pumpkin/).

The SFTP server I mention below is for transferring files off the server like
backups and CDR, but also downloading patches, like .iso's.

I don't have CUCM 5/6/7, so I can't say for certain.
I would follow up on this.

i've been accessing my SFTP server via RDP, as a result i don't see the FreeSSH
icon in the systray, that's why I've had to stop the service, launch the gui,
make changes, then start the service again.

i'm pretty sure that if i went to the console and launched the gui from there,
i could make the changes without stopping/starting the service.
same guys did this one. it works like a charm. it doesn't have as much
configuration options for the home directories as freeftpd.com does, but it
still works well. after you install it as a service, to make changes you have
to stop the service, open up the gui, make the changes, exit the gui, start the
service again.

i actually have both freesshd and freeftpd installed at the same time. i just
made sure not to start the sftp server from freeftpd.

fyi - just ran across this in CM Hot Issues:

CSCsy72201 Bug Details
Need to remove FreeFTPd from recommended backup servers........... This
program is not supported due to a 1 gig backup limitation that has not been
addressed by FreeFTPd. Developers have confirmed that FreeFTPd is not
supported. If it is not supported it should not be a recommendation to run it.

I have used FreeFTPd for a while with no problems but it looks like I
need to find a new Windows 2003 SFTP solution.
Ubuntu works great. you may have to workaround CSCsv34475 or get a
version where it is fixed.
