You can use the 2801 bundle. Validate that you have the appropriate PVDM2 resources by checking what codec your upstream provider allows. The bundle comes with a PVDM2-8 which allows 8 G.711 calls or 4 G.729 medium complexity calls. In order to support a full PRI you need a PVDM2-32 or PVDM2-48 depending on your preferred codec on the SIP Trunk. Also note that Cisco’s sip-ua supports the SIP Connect style of registration so make sure your provider supports Business Trunking.
I have a customer who wants to connect there legacy PBX to a ISDN PRI port on a Cisco 2801 Router which will be connected to a softswitch via SIP protocol. I've never done SIP on VG or this type of connection, so can someone please tell me is there something special or i can just use any 2801 Voice Bundle with PRI interface. Do i need any particylar IOS? I have no idea what type is the softswitch (it's not CUCM) or the PBX.
