Its actually more of the way their system is designed.<br><br>Think of a media gateway as a line card in an old TDM PBX. Then Avaya's Communications Manager is the "brains" that ontrol all of these line cards<br>

Folks,<br><br>Does anyone know why Avaya doesn't terminate IP phones direct to Avaya Communication manager and why Cisco allows it?<br>Avaya connects all phones to a phone proxy, ie.. media gateway.<br><br>I guess it's for security reason, I may be wrong. Just trying to understand. <br clear="all">
