The installer may also load the device type into the database so you
can configure that model of phone and configure default phone load for
that model of phone.<br>

If you already have the phone model available to add then you *may* be
safe just copying in the tftp loads, configuring that as the loadid,
and restarting TFTP.<br>

Occasionally there are patches/updates to database fields in the
installers. If there is any database update and you do not run the
installer then you will be missing that update.<br>

phone firmware files are included in a zip file so you can just copy
them over to a 4.1(3) box. <br>

When I look at 7925, it has two installers, one for 4.1 and earlier and
one for 5 and later. It also has a TAR file for CME. <br>

When I untar the CME file it has the same .LOADS and .SBN files that
appear for earlier versions of the firmware on 4.1(3).<br>

Can I just copy these files over to my TFTP server and I'm good to go?<br>
