I'm having a heck of a time with a conferencing
issue and I want to know if I'm losing it.

Call Manager Groups purpose is to provide
devices a server to register too and a couple of backups in case of failure.
We use them to limit the number of devices that are registered to
any one server and can configure them in such a way to handle server outages
or maintenance windows.
I've got a crazy issue with one
location not being able to use its media resources effectively. Namely
conferencing. If I change a location to use a certain server, they
lose the ability to conference. In the serviceability pages, the
service activations and control panel services are identical to the others.
I've restarted services and finally rebooted the server with no change
in my testing. I've finally opened a ticket with TAC but I wanted
too post this here in hopes that someone can confirm that I'm not going
crazy.
If a CMG contains 3 servers and a software
media resource it needs is registered to another server, can the devices
in this CMG use that software media resource? Just checking, its
not the case here but I wanted ot know if the CMG plays a role like this.
Same goes with MOH, if my MOH server
is registered to a server thats not in the CMG that these devices use,
can those devices still access that MOH server? Just wondering if
CMG's play a larger role than I originally thought.
