IMM is Intergrated Management Module.

It's IBM's version of HP's ILO (Intergrated Lights Out)

Basically it's a board inside the server, that has it's own network connection. You can remotely manage the server (even KVM Keyboard Video Mouse) from the network. If the server is off, you can even power it on from this management interface.

idea what is the IMM module is?

I have the same symptoms for the below bug when I restart
the Publisher server from SSH access

Symptom:

CUCM Server becomes unresponsive after restarting the IMM
module.

Conditions:

MCS-7845-I3 type servers if the module is restarted while
the OS is operational on rare occurrence, the server will become unresponsive.
It has been observed under this condition existing SSH sessions may remain
connected for a period of time however no new connections will be made. CPU
will be spiking to 100% where khubd or kipmi0 processes will be the top CPU
consumers. The only way to recover a server in this unresponsive condition is
to reboot the server which can be done via IMM.

Workaround:

For a permanent fix, perform a UCM upgrade to pick the up
fix:

1) For UCM 6.x, upgrade to 6.1(5) and higher

2) For UCM 7.x, upgrade to 7.1(5) and higher

For a temporary workaroud:

1. Perform IMM configuration before installing UCM when
customers receive their 7835/45-I3 servers. For example, changing HTTP to
HTTPS, or perform any necessary FW update through IMM.

2. If reseting IMM is required after UCM is installed, DO
NOT restart IMM module while UCM is operational. Shut down UCM first before
restarting the IMM module.
