QED is a Cisco-ism. It is the process/tool that endpoint(phone/gateway)
owners use to submit their endpoint
definitions(modules/slots/features/endpoint specific configuration) to
the Communications Manager project for inclusion in the shipping
product.

The fact that you have to do this is basically a miscommunication
between Cisco entities. Newer versions of CUCM will pickup the
endpoint definition so that it is included by default.
Just curious, what does QED stand for and why use this file instead of
the other cop file in CCO?
Thanks,
I have a system with 8.0.2.40000-1 running, but the ATA187 doesn't show
up as a device to add new. Release notes state Cisco UCM Versions
7.1.5, 8.0.2, or higher. Am I missing something?
Thanks,
