I found that the sidetone echo was usually with conjunction of another device on the phone (headset). I personally had this problem and was able to adjust it with some of the Plantronics adjustments that were possible on the headset. It could be a different problem if it's happening without a headset.
Yea, thats what I figured, but the release notes say this was added in 7.0.

Would the new 9.1.1 firmware have the sidetone level set at default or
no sidetone at all? They were on 8.4.3 before and since 9.1.1 SR1 they
say there is no sidetone.

They are hearing echo (their own voice back) throughout the whole
call, but not all calls. Happens about once in every 35-40 calls. No
slips on the PRIs, adjusted the echo canceler coverage, input/output
gains, upgraded router to current IOS and same thing. Thinking about
putting them back on a older f/w since the sidetone issue came up with
that change.

Thanks, Erick
