<p>as my clients do not have CUWL licensing , they are not too keen on CUPs. besides , they have invested on ms uc platform as well for their im app. at the same time , they like the end to end stability & single vendor platform cisco , covering their lan , wan and mgcp gateways and ccm cluster ..etc.</p>
<p>but now , they are trying to leverage their investments on both cisco and ms platforms , by integrating them and offer more uc rich features to their 500 odd user base. so , i am now trying to work on the cost effective manner to achieve the following.</p>
<p>1. sim-ring ( same dn on both ip deskphone & im or different dns) , so that incoming onnet + offnet calls will be<br> hitting both the devices</p>
<p>2. click to call from lync im contacts ( internal & external dns) list to near by associated user ip deskphone</p>
<p>3. audio conferencing on lync im</p>
<p>3. web collaboration , ms docs sharing ..etc </p>
<p>4. site to site desktop video conferencing</p>
<p>5. presence </p>
<div><br>even though , i do not want to turn on full blown dial plan or call processing on the lync server, i guess with<br>some minimum dial rules , voice policies and some digit manipulation , i hope to make lync server to consider<br>
ccm cluster as her next hop pstn gateway egress.</div>

If you are just looking for click to call from web pages and outlook contacts and not replacing the desktop phone, then you could configure remote destinations for the users using Cisco and Lync. When a phone call comes in, both Cisco and Lync will ring and the call can be answered by one or the other. You will need to configure the company phone number rules text file in Lync and possibly trunk configurations as well (in Lync), to pre-pend a 9, strip steering codes, etc. Since you only have one egress point from Lync, the dial plan and voice policies should be easy enough to configure.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">keep the ccm cluster as a sole & central ip pbx in this topology and it works as gateway or default gateway to lync server and i do not want to turn on full blown call routing functionality on lync at all.however , i am aiming to provide all my im users more than just chat, such as "click to call" from any ms apps such as http pages , ms office docs ..etc , click to dial by dialing any contact number from im gui , so that im will control the desk phone at the user desk , audio and desktop video , conferencing and softphone functionality from im gui itself. however , all the call routing will be processed via ccm cluster and not via lync server.</p>
