Out of the 3160, there is a group of 2300 users that are the students dorms. We gave admin rights in Unity Connection for the dorms employees, so that they can manage their residents. Each day, they have move/add/changes. And each day, multiple times a day, they build distribution lists(DL) so that they can reach students for different reasons. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-CA><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-CA>For example: they know each nationality, student’s status, age, etc. So, someone builds a query in a database and extracts to a .csv file. Then, the UC admin tries to build a DL from that .csv file with the tool « Distribution List Builder » and boum!!! Up goes the CPU and delays like ”Please enter your pin…………..New messages………………….1………….”.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-CA><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-CA>So my issue is that when they build a DL it affects the voicemail system for everyone! I know it’s not the best way they could use to reach out for their students, but they’ve doing it this way for years and they’re saying “Hey, the old system used to do it with no problems at all!” which is very true </span><span lang=EN-CA style='font-family:Wingdings'>L</span><span lang=EN-CA><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-CA><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-CA>Could it be that the serial link which is used the SMDI can’t deal with that much MWIs?
