<div>For whatever reason, upper management likes Lync audio conferencing and wants to integrate it with Cisco. <br></div><div><br></div><div>Lync uses G711 between cisco and the Mediation server. </div><div><br></div><div>
So I need to transcode at the site local to Lync from all other sites. </div><div><br></div><div>1. Could I use MTP (IOS software MTP) so I don't need to use DSP resources for the transcoder?</div><div><br></div><div>
<br></div><div>My intended design is this:</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>Remote sites Lync site</div><div>WAN Site 1 ----------</div><div> |-------------------Transcode/MTP --------------Lync</div>
<div>WAN Site 2 ----------</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>Create device pool/region for Lync</div><div>Create a dp/region for the transcoder/MTP</div><div><br></div><div>Set G711 between transcoder region and Lync region</div>
<div>Set g729 between all other regions and transcoder region</div><div><br></div><div>Put transcoder/MTP in each site MRG</div><div>Put ONLY this transcoder/MTP in the lync mrg</div><div><br></div><div>2. Would I also need to create a mrg to use for the transcode DP so it only uses this transcoder?</div>
