There are two types of conferences ad hoc and meet me. Either requires a conference bridge to bridge the media streams. More info in the features and services guide</p>
<p dir="ltr">An internal software conference bridge is provided by the IP voice media streaming service which has limitations in terms of codec (g711 only)</p>
<p dir="ltr">An external conf bridge using DSP on a router is needed if you want to support other codecs and xcoding between diff types of codecs.</p>
<p dir="ltr">The max number of participants is a service parameter and can be changed. Please read the associated help by clicking on the service parameter name </p>

<p class="MsoNormal">So you can setup up to 16 parties using UCM, however I wouldn't do that. I would use Web Connect, or Meeting Place or Meeting Place express. Also depending how many conferencing bridges you need.</p>
