I recall a couple of years back hearing about how Cisco was in the process of developing a global directory of Cisco Collab clients that organizations could register in so that there could exist a sort of easy integration.

Was this what SME was all about? Did this ever come to fruition? <br>

It was supposed to work in such a way that when you dial a telephone number the call was placed normally, but a search also took place in the registry, and if it existed, the next time you called that number, the call was placed through the registry, and via
ip. <br>

Sounded great at the time. <br>
