Ordinarily I'd say work with TAC however, on install issues if the problem isn't a glaringly obvious config issue TAC is probably going to need you to pull logs and packet captures so they can read them. Sometimes, its much easier to do that yourself; or at
the very least have the logs and captures ready before opening the TAC case.

First off; I'd try to dump the install logs to a file using the serial port method and try to decipher the errors. Here are some instructions on how to capture logs on a fresh install:

Yeah I’m not sure what the issue is but I recall having to on one occasion install and recover the config to a clean install before installing the second, for some reason it just refused to add a second server to the cluster on a preconfig. I think there might’ve
been a bug in the old OVAs that impact the publisher. I have no factual proof for that though, and I can’t remember if there was a cisco stance on the problem.

Just curious, is your first server from the BE6/7000 Preconfigures? I remember having a few major issues in the past adding servers to a cluster from one of the preconfigured templates on 10.5 and 11.0, wondering if it might be that same issue.

I’ve tried repeatedly to install our second IM server, and it always fails with a corrupt file during post-install. I re-downloaded the ISO and recreated the bootable ISO, so I don’t believe it’s a ISO issue. Anyone see this?
