Atlanta, GA Feb 10-12, 2014 It's about 60 days away--the next meeting of NANOG, the North American Network Operators Group. We had a nice turnout of R&E folks at NANOG 59 in Arizona, and many positive comments from folks on the surveys. I'll be coordinating an R&E Track again this time around (the surveys last time were quite positive) and some topics on the docket are: * Security (including routing security--what's happening with RPKI and BGPSEC and what should we be doing about it) * 100G/CC-NIE/Science DMZ: Who has been implementing very high-speed networks on their campuses and what are some of the interesting lessons learned. * Topics you are interested in. If you have a topic that's important to you that you'd like to discuss with network operators, let me know. I am especially interested in content you may have to contribute--we got some good discussions going last time and I'd like to keep the momentum. So please let me know if there's something interesting you have brewing. If you're in the area (e.g. Emory, Gatech, UGA, SOX, FLR, Clemson, etc.), or even other parts of the east coast, we'd love to see you there. Again, note that there won't be a Joint Techs this winter, so NANOG will be a great opportunity to get folks together in the R&E community for excellent content and great hallway conversations. I'll be posting later this week with more topics and content that will be covered, so stay tuned. In the meantime, let me know if there's something you'd like to contribute, or if you have any questions. thanks! michael
