No you don't have to configure something special

You just have to plug it.
I have never done the test on summit X450 but I have done it on Summit 400 or on BD8K and it worked fine with severall kind of SFP.

well, do you configure the switch somehow to accept unsupported SFPs ?

what I got is:
04/27/2009 22:20:06.27 <Erro:PORT> ERROR: Port 1 : Unknown GBIC. Port will not activate.
04/27/2009 22:20:06.10 <Erro:PORT> ERROR: Port 2 : Unknown GBIC. Port will not activate.


one - finisar LX, the other some CWDM from china.
