Hi,

We had a bought the MLX a month ago and after testing we were trying to
implement it in our network. We hit a hurdle in the very first instance of
trying to migrate traffic on to it. It was disbelief at first. A documented
feature "ip default-network" will not work on the MLX/XMR. we found it the
hard way. We were trying the migration at 12:00 midnight and fought with it
for 2 hours and aborted the exercise only to be told by the Foundry guys
that this feature is not supported and only a workaround will have to be
used (which we figured out ourselves in our LAB).

Now I am sceptical on what all features are there in the manual but will not
work in practice.

Just thought I will bring it to the notice of Foundry users.

Instead of ip default-network, we had to use "ip route 0.0.0.0/0 <network>"
in combination with "ip route next-hop bgp", because we are learning the
network from BGP session. Then we are using "default-information-originate"
in OSPF to inject a default to the OSPF neighbors. Recursion allowed to be
configured in static routing makes this possible.
