We have several MLX-4/XMR-4 that have interchangeable Power Supplies,
several are AC several are DC. The MLX/XMR are definitely swappable.
In fact I had an MLX-4 running with both an AC and a DC PSU installed
just to see if it would complain. (haven't tested whether it would run
with both powered on)
Can't vouch for the RX or 8 or 16 slot MLX/XMR as we don't have any,
though I would assume the 8 and 16 are the same as the 4.
Perhaps you're thinking of the SuperX family where the PSU slides in the
front and the connectors are fixed on the back?
