Hello all,
While working with IPv6 in a small test environment I have come across
issues null routing. I am able to add static routes pointing to an IP
address but anything null routed does not enter the routing table.
Here are some of the configs:
#sh run | inc ipv6 route
ipv6 route ::/0 2607:f210:1:1::1
ipv6 route 2607:f210:1000:1::/64 null0
ipv6 route 2607:f210:2222::/48 null0
ipv6 route 2607:f210:3333::/48 2607:f210:1:1::1
#sh ipv6 route
IPv6 Routing Table - 7 entries:
Type Codes: C - Connected, S - Static, R - RIP, O - OSPF, B - BGP, I -
ISIS
Type IPv6 Prefix Next Hop Router Interface
Dis/Metric
S ::/0 2607:f210:1:1::1 e 1/1
1/1
O2 2607:f210::1/128 fe80::204:80ff:fe98:6f00 e 1/1
110/0
C 2607:f210::2/128 :: loopback 1
0/0
C 2607:f210:1:1::/126 :: e 1/1
0/0
O2 2607:f210:1:1::4/126 fe80::204:80ff:fe98:6f00 e 1/1
110/0
O 2607:f210:3::/48 fe80::204:80ff:fe98:6f00 e 1/1
110/2
S 2607:f210:3333::/48 2607:f210:1:1::1 e 1/1
1/1
As you can see OSPF works, static routing to other IP addresses work,
and directly connected addresses make it into the table. Null routed
IP's just never show up.
This is on a Big Iron 4000 running ver 08.0.01pT53. Any help with this
would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Daniel
