If the device is still under a service contract, open a TAC ticket. It sounds to me like the firmware thinks it's a different chassis than it is, which can be corrected by a Brocade TAC engineer.

Subject: [f-nsp] odd error on RX-4 "Warning: Backplane EEPROM "chassis-type"is 0xac which is incorrect. Please correct it"
Pulling a spare RX-4 chassis out for some testing, and it seems to run just fine, but on boot it sais:
"INFO: RX-4 backplane is detected.
my_slot = 32
get_mac_and_arbitration_delay: no peer (present_reg = 1efffd)
INFO: RX-4 backplane is detected.
Warning: Backplane EEPROM "chassis-type" is 0xac which is incorrect. Please corr
ect it."
The last line is what's concerning.
I don't know if this is possibly due to an older chassis with newer cards? Hesitant to ok this unit
for production with an error of unknown, but probably innocuous consequences.
Comments??
