[f-nsp] ironstack for redundancy

Hi there,

We would like to use Ironstack (fastiron family) to be able to create
port-channels/trunks over multiple fysical switches to combat single
switch failures.

However from the fastiron manual I noticed the following:

"If the Active Controller fails, the Standby controller waits 30
seconds, and then takes over as Active Controller, resetting itself
and all other stack members."

(a controller is one switch in the stack)

If this is true (and if it's in the manual it probably is) a ironstack
can not be used for any redundancy configurations and we have to go
with other redundancy methods.

Does anyone have experience with this? Does anyone know why
brocade/foundry needs to restart the stack if the master/active switch
fails? Is there maybe a config option to not reset the stack?

regards, Igor
