Are you talking about something going awry before getting to boot monitor mode? You can hit 'b' while the system is still booting & get into boot monitor where you can tftp a new bootrom & IOS.

Subject: [f-nsp] How to erase config/nvram from boot prompt?

Hi,
does anyone know how to erase/prevent the config from loading on a FESX? On a Cisco this is the equivalent of changing the boot parameter.

I can easily see how to do 'no password' but in this case the box fails to boot and throws an exception when it starts trying to load the config. Hence I need to stop it at the boot prompt and try to get it up as factory default....

Out of interest, if anyone's seen the below exception, any clue what it means?

PP: mem
Exception Type 1100 (Data TLB Miss on Load), appl

End of Trace

Cheers
