Hi, Diarius
Only Cisco gear runs IOS. Foundry runs Ironware. They should still be able
to "talk" to each other, though. Can you describe exactly what sort of
problem you are having? A few things off the bat when interacting with
Cisco might help:
Cisco, by default, uses a protocol to negotiate trunks (DTP) and sometimes
you need to turn that off for the link to come up. If the Foundry gear is
connected to a Cisco switch, you might need to go into the Cisco config,
into the interface config and issue a command of "switchport nonegotiate"
in order to turn off DTP. Note that has nothing to do with speed/duplex
negotiation, it is only DTP negotiation. If the port on the Cisco is an
802.1q trunk, that needs to be configured specifically rather than
negotiated.
But that is just the most common issue I see with Cisco gear connected to
Foundry. What problem are you having?
