Which binary are you running? If it's running FWS07126.bin, that's only L2-capable.

* N8R07126.bin
(Layer 3 Switch code)
* NIP07126.bin
(IP-only Layer 3 Switch code)
Note: Beginning with release 07.1.26, the
N8R image supports IP NAT and rate
limiting but does not support BGP4.
However, the NIP image does still support
BGP4.
* FWS07126.bin
(Layer 2 Switch code)

Subject: [f-nsp] FWS24 layer3 switching

Dear Foundry users,

I recently picked up an old FWS24 so i could get some hands-on practice
for the BCNE exam, and some home lab experimenting (Cisco-Foundry-HP
interop, etc.).

According to it's datasheet, the FWS24 is capable of L3 switching, but
i'm unable to configure it. Google says it's only possible with 6.5 and
6.6 firmware, and i have 7.0 and 7.1. Is it possible that the L3
features were removed in a newer release?

Flash looks like this:

telnet at kalapacs#sh fl
Code Flash Type: AMD 29F016, Size: 32 * 65536 = 2097152, Unit: 1
Boot Flash Type: AMD 29F010, Size: 8 * 16384 = 131072
Compressed Pri Code size = 870849, Version 07.1.26nT10
Compressed Sec Code size = 864016, Version 07.0.00T10
Boot Image size = 80792, Version 06.00.00

Is it possible to get a support contract on this EOL switch with
Brocade, or something?

Any pointers much appreciated!

Cheers,

Tamas
