[f-nsp] Impact of disabling SFM modules on MLX

Hi,

currently i have a SFM module in a MLX 4e showing strange errors (FE
Access failure detected on SNM 1/FE 1) in the log, also the SFM
utilization looks a bit unhealthy:
 SFM#1

last 1 second  utilization = 1494.3%
last 5 seconds utilization = 1494.3%
last 1 minute  utilization = 1494.3%
last 5 minutes utilization = 1493.4%

I have a SR with Brocade and they suggested to disable SFM1 and
created a RMA for the module. However they were not really able to
tell me what impact a power-off of SFM1 has on the traffic flowing
trough the device (both routed and switched).

Has someone on the list experience with disabling SFM modules? Is this
causing any impact on the network or is this fully transparent?
