[f-nsp] MLX Route issues after 5.4.0d upgrade

Hello James,

I have been running 540d successfully for a few months now, never seen such symptoms.

We don't offer BGP transit to our customers so my shared experience might not prove relevant to you.

Have you read 540d release notes ? IIRC, this behavior doesn't ring a bell.

Did you report this to BROCADE TAC ?

Best of luck.

Chears.

Arbitrarily, the next hop will be overwritten with a next-hop IP of another downstream router in the network, say, 69.123.123.2. That OSPF neighbor is an NSSA in a area 4. The odd thing is that the redundant pair for this device was upgraded 60 days ago and hasn't shown these symptoms so it seems very safe to upgrade. Its as if that neighbor's advertisement for the next hop, learned by way of its redundant connection to a different device, is being seen as better than the directly connected neighbor. Upping the OSPF cost to that downstream site seems to band-aid the issue but it seems that this should not be occurring at all.
