<div>Actually, thats just a little off. It is true that the mgmt blade will work across any other FI chassis, however, prior to loading the router code, it will check the prom and the chassis its installed in. For Jetcore modules, the 15 slot upgrade prom will work on 15,8, or 4 slot chassis. The 8 slot prom will work on 8 or 4, and the 4 slot prom will work on only the 4 slot. This is only significant if you are trying to load the full layer 3 code, base layer 3 and layer 2 will work without the prom.</div>

<div>Additionally, in a pinch, you can use a Bigiron interface blade in a Fastiron chassis. The identity really comes from the management module, that is what determines whether its a FastIron or BigIron. For ServerIron, they are the same interface modules as the BigIron, hence interchangeable. The reverse will not work, a FI interface module will not work in a BI/SI chassis.</div>
