HX-11 ?

Hi Heath enthusiasts!

A few questions on the HX-11 CW xmtr.
Don't have one (yet), but would like to consider one
to go with my Hammarlund HQ-110 receiver if I
happen to run across one.  (Another possible
matchup I had in mind was a Globe Scout or
a Halli HT-40)

Is HX-11 == DX-20 ??  By appearances and
    general description it seems to be.
What VFO ?  I have a HG-10B. Do I need the VF-1 ?
How good are they?  I take it they are a later model
   remake.
Cathode keyed?  I'd rather have grid-block keying, but...

Now if I can just get my HW-16 fixed.  Need to replace
the 80-80-50-40 electrolytic (again :-(.
