Boogered Holes

I know I'm not the only person that has been faced with this problem.
Sheet metal screw holes get bigger after a while and won't take the
standard screw tightly. Is there a fix for this?
1. Use the next size screw? Works but looks tacky and disrupts the
original construction.
2. Fill the hole with something like JB Weld, redrill to normal size,
paint to match the surrounding metal, fasten?
3. Leave the screw out and tell everyone it's an additional ventalation
hole or it helps the neutralization?
4. Other?
Thanks in advance for any ideas and 73,
gary
