Copyrights on manuals?

I would really like to create a web repository of old Heath manuals, but
have heard that they defend the copyrights on them rather vigorously.
Have any of you heard that, or otherwise, or asked Zenith about it?

Anyhow, if it weren't for that kind of political stuff, I have a scanner
and could provide space on my web server for them. I think Acrobat Capture
(OCR-to-pdf) would work pretty well without requiring massive amounts of
time, and preserve the diagrams and stuff.

I do have a couple of other manuals online at
www.goodnet.com/~ecloud/hamradio.html
and haven't gotten sued yet. :-) Those did take too much time - OCRing,
proofreading, and separately scanning and cleaning up all the diagrams and
pictures.
