Heathkit Part No. 417-863 (MFE-131amp/mixer MOSFET)

        Does anyone have any experience with replacing Heathkit's Part No.
 417-863?  It's a MFE-131dual gate, n-channel mosfet enclosed in a
 T0-72 case and used for amplifier/mixer applications.  I can't source
 the Motorola device, but the NTE222 is listed as a substitute.   I've
 never used NTE products before and would appreciate  anyone's opinion
 on how well the NTE replacement performs as a substitute for the
 original  device.  In particular, will it reliably mix two input
 frequencies to produce a summed output at 34 Mhz.?  Thank you in
