Older Heath Test Gear--The VOMs and VTVMs

V-6    VTVM.  1 1/2-v full scale low range provides over 2 1/4" of scale
length per volt.  Upper DC scale limit:  1500-v.  DC Ranges:  0-1.4, 5,
15, 50, 150, 500, 1500-v.  AC Ranges:  0-1.5, 4, 15, 50, 150, 500,
1500-v full scale. Seven ohmmeter ranges:  0.1 to 1,000 megohms.  For
added convenience there is a DC polarity-reversing switch and
center-scale zero adjustment is provided for alighment of FM receivers.
Formed aluminum cabinet painted grey crackle.  Two-color infra-red baked
enamel panel.  1% precision resistors, silver-contact range and selector
switches, selenium rectifier, transformer power supply.  Individual
AC/DC calibrations on meter.  Db scale in red; all others in crisp
black.  Accessory probes:  #336 HV probe, #338-B peak-to-peak probe, and
#309-B RF probe (all of which I'll list in the "Miscellaneous" section
later).

MM-1     VOM.  20K-ohms/volt multimeter.  Portable.  5K-ohms/v on AC.
Full-scale voltage ranges:  1.5, 5.0, 50, 150, 500, 1500, 5KV.  DC
Current:  150 microamps, 15, 150 and 500 ma., plus 15 amps.  Resistance
ranges:  0.2 to 20 megohms in 3 ranges.  Db from minus 1-db to plus 65
db.  Uses standard commercial batteries.  Unaffected by strong RF
fields.  1% precision resistors, ring-type range switch, highly accurate
Simpson 50-microamp meter.  Meter movement recessed for non-glare
readability.  Black bakelite case, 2-color mter and scales.  Test leads
and battery included.  5 1/2"X4"X7 1/2" (WDH).  6 lbs.  1954 price:
$26.50.

AV-2     New AC VTVM makes possible sensitive AC measurements required
by labs, audiophiles, experimenters.  Particularly useful for hum
investigations.  Sensitive null detection, phono pickup output
measurements, frequency response runs, gain measurements, ripple voltage
checks, etc.  Low level measurements easy because of 1-knob operation
and complete voltage coverage.  Large 200-microampere meter (Simpson)
has clearly marked and easily read scales.  10 voltage ranges from
0.01-v RMS to 300-v RMS full scale.  Frequency response plus or minus 1
db from 20 Hz to 50,000 Hz.  Meterbridge circuit has 4 germanium diodes
for stability and good linearity.  Styled to be companion piece for the
V-6 VTVM and the new AW-1 audio wattmeter.  5 lbs.  1953 price:  $29.50.
