RCA phono jack/plugs

I squawked about seeing the lowly RCA jack on a friend's Collins gear as
a Novice, and was corrected by the old timer (a former RCA-Sarnoff Labs
engineer)...I believe he said they were constant impedance and 50 ohms.

Not only are the type N good, if I remember the weird looking General
Radio hermaphrodite connector is too (which is why they used it on test
gear). Once you see one of those animalsm you'll never forget it...both
connectors are identical but mate together...(ugh...gave me the
willies).
