Paul,

The electronic switch is used to "convert" a single trace oscilloscope into
a dual trace.  It rapidly switches between the two inputs and allows the
traces to be seperated on the screen.  It can be pretty usefull if you have
an older scope without dual trace capability.  Maybe you can find another
box for your project.
