Front panel renovations

I used to do a lot of panel lettering with the transfer letters on one
of a kind panels for work and all.  It works ok but they aren't that
durable so would like a better method also.  As for the paint, I'm
interested in the crinkle finish - anyone had luck with that?  I used to
see it around.. just spray it on and wait a bit and it would crinkle up
real nice.  I was hoping some of the matches offered would be of the
crinkle type for doing a deep refinish of a cabinent.  Any experience
with that?
