Glo-Bar

Hi All! Need some help on something. In the GR-91 there is a thing called a
Glo-Bar (Heath part 9-7) which is inserted in the series filament string of
the tubes and shows as having a resistance of 800-100 Ohms on the schematic.
It looks like one of those UK carbon comp resistors with the leads wrapped
around each end, about the size of 2 watt cabon comp. Is this an early
version of a thermistor or something like that. Would appreciate any help on
this.
