HK-21 Pocket Packet

My HK-21 has finally stopped receiving.  I had been experience trouble
with it on and off for quite a while.  It got worse and worse and
finally quit altogether.

When I try to connect with my local packet station, I see the calls go
out and my HT indicates that I am receiving a response almost immediately, but nothing is getting thru.  I did all the obvious checks:
good line from HT to TNC, signal coming down the line from the
HT, replugged things several times, etc.

I opened it up and took a look.  I'm not sure I want to probe around in there.  It doesn't look too user friendly.

Any suggestions?
