SB303 LMO Noise

The LMO in my SB303 generates severe noise on different parts of the
frequency range.  I've been trouble shooting it but was not very successfull
... until ... I connected a counter to the LMO output phono plug, and low
and behold,  the noise disappeared!   I removed the counter and the noise
came back.  I terminated the phono plug with 50 ohms and the noise agn went
away ... and the rcvr works like a champ.   Since I don't have a manual,
there may be something in there about terminating this output when not
connecting to the SB401,  however I am quite surprised that this kind of
instability with the LMO should occur.   Thought you might be interested.
