Help me save a HW101

Stu, great information regarding the availability of the mic plugs and the 11
pin power plugs. I never would have thought that those were still available.
By the way the 11 pin is on page 386 of Newark catalog #115.
I also noticed that they offer a cap which has a nice cable clamp on it. It
appears as though that is made to fit all of the plugs???? (are they all the
same OD , I wonder?). I don't know what all the HW-101's came with, but my
power cord has caps with lame rubber grommets..... no cable clamp at all.
The only problem is, you would have to re-do one plug end to get the new caps
on.....
In my job I deal with UL and CE approvals, and some of this Heath stuff would
never pass..for instance without that cable clamp. I also doubt that the
wiring used in that harness is rated appropriately for 800 volts... not to
mention that the safety grounding is not really done right, unless you run a
good ground to the chassis screw on the back. (I strongly suggest doing that,
especially when you are in there aligning the set...I don't think 800 volts
feels very good) Another area that is interesting are the chassis covers on
the '101. In order to reduce emi emissions (and protect against external rf)
you would normally make sure the covers are electrically connected to the
chassis and to each other in many places. How things change......
