enlarged holes, fix

My bbs went down New Years Day, and I've been out of touch. It's up
one day and down the next. Situation is getting better, but I've only
gotten one e-mail since 1997. Usually I get 100 a day.
Anyway, to get to the subject. If you use a small (4 oz. or so,) ball
peen hammer, and peen around the hole, you will make the hole smaller,
to accept the fastener. Don't tighten it too tight, or you will just strip
it again. This is a good fix where the hammer marks won't be seen. It may
work on a visable surface if you work the hammer on the inside, close to
the hole, padding the finished side with cardboard to protect the
paint. Use a block of wood, ect., to back up the metal to absorb the
blows, and keep the metal flat. If you peen the metal without backing it
up, you will just beat it out of shape.
Good luck, hope your server is holding up.
